Advances in new fire rated glazing and framing technology and performance have made it possible for architects to design clear and innovative spaces like never before. With fire and safety glazing codes changing dramatically over the last few years, there is much confusion on which products are appropriate for certain applications based on current code requirements.

Architects, engineers, specifiers, facility managers, building code officials and other members of the building community. This information is especially useful to professionals involved in designing Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, Government, and Commercial facilities which often use fire rated glass.
Facilitator:
The program is delivered by Kate Steel of Steel Consulting Services. For over 15 years, Kate has participated in code development committees responsible for promulgating fire and safety glazing provisions, including the NFPA 80 Glazing Task Group and ANSI Z97.1 Standard Review Committee. She has successfully trained architects, specifiers and code enforcers on the correct and code approved use of fire rated glazing and framing products. Kate is currently involved in fire rated glazing code revision proposals to the National Building Code of Canada.
